In Crisis?

Poverty Simulations

Poverty Simulations are unique educational workshops made up of a series of role-playing scenarios during which participants adopt a real persona and family profile to learn about the realities of poverty and its impact on society as a whole. It can be a profoundly moving experience, highlighting real barriers folks living with low income experience every day and providing space for thoughtful discussion around how communities can work to address poverty.

Throughout the simulation, participants will “walk a month” in the shoes of their adopted personas, navigating the realities of daily life and strategizing access to local supports and resources on their journey to stability and thriving. As the simulation comes to a close, participants will come together to share about their experience in the simulation and explore ways to address poverty in our community and advocate for change.
