Initiatives

Lancaster County Hunger Mapping Project
In 2023, Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and Hunger-Free Lancaster County conducted the year-long Lancaster County Hunger Mapping Project that explored food insecurity and the charitable food system in the county. Their comprehensive report explores food access inequities, highlights barriers, and makes recommendations for moving forward.

Food Pantry Volunteer Training
One key finding out of the Lancaster County Hunger Mapping Project was that every interaction at a food pantry matters. This insight led to the development of a universal Food Pantry Volunteer Training to support pantries in creating a consistent and welcoming experience.
